DATAGRES was founded in 2010 by veterans of leading technology companies like Sun, Oracle, EMC, and NetApp. The DATAGRES team brings to PerfAccel a comprehensive understanding of today’s management challenges within the current data explosion, as well as insight into the potential for greater business value realization from Active Data.

In 2012, DATAGRES received it's Series A funding from Nexus Venture Partners. DATAGRES works with organizations around the world, in public and private sectors, specializing in Media and Entertainment, eCAD, large NoSQL, and other Big data center environments.

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Ranajit oversees DATAGRES’ day-to-day operations and leads the company’s overall business strategy. Ranajit is a high tech industry veteran, with more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software, storage, and cloud technologies. Prior to DATAGRES, Ranajit was the Senior Vice President of products & marketing at Bitcasa where he launched the company’s cloud developer platform. Before Bitcasa, he served as Vice President at Panzura, responsible for marketing and inside sales. Prior to that, Ranajit held leadership position at Riverbed and is credited for bringing company’s Whitewater and Granite products to market. Additionally, he has held senior positions at Veritas and Oracle and recognized for bringing the company’s flagship products for Enterprise Linux market. Ranajit has an MBA from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science in computer science and mathematics from Morehouse College.

Founder & CTO

As founder of DATAGRES, Srinivasan brings more than 20 years of experience in system architecture, virtualization, storage, and cloud computing solutions to the DATAGRES team. With over 28 awarded patents in storage and system technology, Srinivasan has served on the Board of Directors for SNIA (Storage Network Industry Association) and the Unix POSIX Committee. As a lead technologist at Sun Microsystems (acquired by Oracle Corporation) and Network Appliance, Srinivasan specialized in next generation RAID, Cluster File Systems, and Data Management. Srinivasan holds a ME in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Srinivasan served as CEO of DATAGRES till 2015 and currently serves as Chairman of the board.

Sandeep Singhal

Sandeep has been an entrepreneur and a pioneer of Venture Capital in India. He was co-founder & CEO of Medusind Solutions, one of the leading healthcare outsourcing companies in India. He also was the co-founder of eVentures India, a leading venture firm focused on early stage ventures in India. Several of his earlier investments have had successful exits, including Customer Asset (acquired by First source), Mentorix Solutions (acquired by Lionbridge), Intigma (acquired by Emptoris), and MakeMyTrip (sale to SAIF Partners). Sandeep has also held senior roles at McKinsey & Company, Digital Equipment and EDA Systems.

Sandeep has an MBA (with Distinction) from The Wharton School with a dual Major in Finance and Marketing, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He is on the Board of TiE Mumbai, and is actively involved with the Entrepreneurs Organization and the Wharton and Stanford India Alumni Associations.
